I was in charge of pre and post-surgical care. This led me to Cambridge Mass. Studying the Lymphatic system, training in a healing massage modality called MLD (manual lymphatic drainage)
- MLD specializes in healing soft tissue damage as well as regulating and supporting the immune and digestive systems.
Five and half years into my experience at the surgery center, the Doc was ready to retire.
- I found a new home in a lovely salon. Salons have a much larger volume of people moving through it compared to the doctors office.
- This population burst was perfect timing for me to exercise my well-honed skills on a larger scale.
- I’ve been developing and perfecting these skills ever since.

Shifting the perspective
20 years-ago I started practicing yoga. It had an intensely transformative effect on me, both mind and body— immediately!
The most powerful effect my yoga practice had on me was the radical shift it created in my perspective.
- Tuning things I’ve perceived as burdens into blessings
- Instead of wasting energy on anticipatory anxiety, I found faith
I was so moved by the effects of my yoga practice, that in just a few years after I began practicing, I decided to become a yoga teacher.
- My teacher training was extensive and well
rounded
- Learning safe and responsible options to yoga poses and sequencing classes
- Studying the history and psychology of Yoga
I was fortunate enough to find myself teaching classes as soon as I graduated, eventually teaching on the Teacher Training team.
- Honing many different skills over the years,
including
- Clear language
- Adaptation through observation
- I have been building and applying these skills ever since.
Regulating the effects of stress and trauma
10 years ago my yoga education took a serious turn when I decided to sign up for a three year, Comprehensive Yoga Therapy (CYT) training program.
- Ultimately,
CYT takes a global approach in understanding and regulating the possible effects
stress and trauma have on every layer of one’s life.
- First-Learning about ones unique responses and beliefs towards life events.
- Second-Letting these distinctive characteristics
inspire an educational thread
- That thread links the tools needed in opening and purifying an individual’s perception
- Shedding
light on patterns
- Do these patterns serve their purpose?
- What are their purpose?
- Studying
the systems of the body was a large part of my education
- How stress effects these layers
- Interestingly
enough, all the systems of the body can be viewed and understood through the
SKIN!!
- I realized my life had come FULL CIRCLE!
A good teacher makes an even better student
5 years ago I had the fortune to become part of the CYT teaching team.
- Taking my unique lens and creating programs and practices to hundreds of people while they’re on their road to becoming Yoga Therapists.
- A good teacher make an even better student❤
- I’m thankful every day for my teaching positions. They are my anchor, my grounded approach to my ever-evolving education.
